As a spin-off from the Chair of Quantum Optics at the University of Siegen, we at eleQtron are working together on a major goal: the development of a freely programmable, scalable quantum computer. And that’s not all! Via cloud connection we make computing time on quantum computers available for industry and science.

FAQ
eleQtron GmbH was founded in 2020 as a spin-off of the Department of Quantum Optics at the University of Siegen and is home to the first German quantum computer. The core business of the start-up of founder Prof. Dr. Christof Wunderlich, Dr. Michael Johanning and CEO Jan Leisse is the development and operation of future-oriented quantum computers based on stored ions.
eleQtron is the first manufacturer of quantum computer hardware in Germany. Our MAGIC technology is groundbreaking and will make it possible to provide computing time on quantum computers for industrial applications. We are a highly qualified international team and have already been able to convince major investors with our project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Our goal is to become the leading provider of quantum computing time in Germany. In the coming years, we will push ahead with our MAGIC App funding project to this end and ultimately bring a freely programmable, arbitrarily scalable quantum computer to market.
Because quantum computing is the technology of the future! The market potential is already huge and will grow even more in the coming years. With our MAGIC technology, we have succeeded in creating a groundbreaking innovation that will enable us to open up new markets. In doing so, we will focus on highly relevant and lucrative sectors of the economy.
Chemicals, pharmaceuticals and automotive (materials research), logistics (route and network optimizations) and finance (risk management, portfolio optimizations) as well as increasingly important fields such as machine learning are just a few examples.
In the first round of financing, we have already raised 6.4 million euros in venture capital from Earlybird and other investors. In addition, our MAGIC App project is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education with 9.1 million euros.
