Siegen, Germany – June 23rd 2025 – eleQtron, Germany’s first homegrown quantum computer manufacturer, has been selected by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer 2025, one of just 100 companies worldwide chosen this year . This milestone marks the 25th anniversary of the WEF Technology Pioneers program — a silver jubilee year celebrating innovation’s legacy and future.
eleQtron is one of only four companies from Germany honored in this esteemed global cohort. This recognition places the company among trailblazing alumni like Google, Airbnb, Spotify, Klarna, and Palantir, all of which began as Technology Pioneers and have since shaped industries worldwide.
As a selected Technology Pioneer, eleQtron will now engage with global leaders across sectors, contributing its expertise to shape the responsible adoption of emerging technologies. Companies are chosen for this honor through a highly competitive process, based on criteria such as technological innovation, potential for global impact, scalability, and the ability to shape the future of their industries.
Jan Henrik Leisse, Co‑Founder and CEO of eleQtron, commented:
“Being selected as a Technology Pioneer in this special 25th anniversary cohort is an exceptional honor—and proof that quantum computing is advancing from theory into real-world impact. We’re proud to represent Germany and eager to share our vision for scalable, precision quantum systems that address global challenges.”
Supported by first-class institutions, leading companies, and public funding, eleQtron is committed to translating quantum innovation into industrial applications and driving societal progress.
What sets eleQtron apart in the global quantum landscape is its MAGIC® technology (“Magnetic Gradient Induced Coupling”), which uses radio waves instead of lasers to control ion-trap qubits. This innovation makes quantum systems not only more stable and scalable but also easier and more cost-effective to operate. eleQtron aims to pioneer a new era of real-world quantum applications by delivering systems that solve industrial-scale problems in areas like logistics, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and AI.
The World Economic Forum (WEF), founded in 1971 and based in Geneva, brings together global public- and private-sector leaders—spanning business, politics, academia and civil society—to collaborate on shaping global, regional and industry agendas. Key annual gatherings include the flagship Davos meeting (20–24 January 2025 in Switzerland) and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions—also known as “Summer Davos”—which will take place in Tianjin, China from 24–26 June 2025. The WEF selects around 100 Technology Pioneers each year, enabling these companies to engage in a two-year program of high-level collaboration and insight-sharing
